By now, it’s clear that my MAGA colleague Jim Jordan is using the Judiciary Committee as a weapon now that he chairs it. He wants to investigate every imagined, made-up, fabricated wrong suffered by his dear leader Donald Trump.

But the Judiciary Committee should be doing other things, like reforming our federal courts, holding Supreme Court justices accountable to the people, and ensuring that conservatives don’t twist Article III of the Constitution into a means of unfairly stripping Americans of their rights.

Last Congress, I introduced the Supreme Court Tenure Establishment and Retirement Modernization (TERM) Act, to limit terms served by Supreme Court justices to 18 years. Lifetime appointments to the highest court mean that old ideas calcify on the bench and maintain a stranglehold over our country.

Just like Donald Trump is still controlling his Republican puppets in Congress even as he becomes irrelevant, backwards and obsolete right-wing thinking is still controlling the Supreme Court.

If MAGA Republicans want to use the Judiciary Committee to attack President Biden and prop up Donald Trump, they’ll have to get through ME first. John, will you make a contribution so that I can keep my focus on advocating for the Supreme Court TERM Act and calling out Republicans on their games?
