John, 10 years ago, the Citizens United decision opened up a flood of untraceable, dark money into our political system. The wealthiest people and corporations in our country have the power to wield incredible power and influence over our elections -- taking power out of the hands of the many and into the hands of the few. I’m proud to be running a grassroots campaign, rejecting corporate PAC checks and dark money contributions. I’m also honored to have earned an endorsement from the organization End Citizens United -- they are committed to repealing this decision and reforming our campaign finance system. Join me in taking action -- sign our petition telling our government to end Citizens United today. We can see the effects of special interests all around us. Oftentimes, the biggest banks and corporations are the ones that reap the most from government policies, rather than the local grocery stores, small businesses or most farms. Prescription drug costs? Just look at how much the pharmaceutical industry pours into elections. It goes on and on. As a result, politicians (like Steve King) are more accountable to dark money donors than to their voters. It’s time for concrete reforms to our campaign finance system. The House of Representatives passed H.R. 1 last year, and it’s time to pass it into law. As a Representative, I will be on the forefront of the fight for reform. Add your name to our petition on Citizens United today -- it’s time for action. Standing Tall for All, J.D. Scholten
