Last week, the House Agriculture Committee was officially organized under the new Republican Majority where I was seated as an official member. This year the Committee will be challenged with passing an impactful Farm Bill, which I look forward to spearheading. My work will be crucial for the generational success of the hard-working farmers and ranchers I am honored to represent in Texas’ Thirteenth Congressional District.  

Ensuring a strong relationship with partner nations in the Indo-Pacific is important for our deterrence of Chinese threats. Thank you Admiral Harris for answering my questions last week!

Introduction of the Troop Return of Overdue Payment (TROOP) Act

As a retired Rear Admiral and member of the House Armed Services Committee, I am proud to join my friend from Florida, Neal Dunn, in introducing the TROOP Act. Protecting our servicemembers from the current administration's relentless attacks is a top priority for me. The recent discharge of 8,400 servicemembers, solely for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine, is both dangerous and unjust. It not only impacts the servicemembers, but also their families and loved ones. At a time when recruitment numbers are at an all-time low, President Biden chose to endanger our national security, which is unacceptable. I fully endorse the reinstatement of all qualified servicemembers with full back pay and benefits. Read the full bill here.

Advocating on Behalf of Our Service Members 

I sent a letter along with my colleague, Jim Banks, to Secretary Austin demanding that the current COVID-19 vaccination policies cease for our military. Biden's Blunder of the Week: Horrible State of the Union Address

Joe Biden's State of the Union was an utter waste of time for everyone involved. He slandered the accomplishments of the Trump administration while blaming his failures on "radical" Republicans, even though we are the ones fighting to save our country. Even worse were the Democrats, forcibly clapping with no hesitation to every lie Biden touted about his failed policies. It is clear that the Biden administration, along with the Democratic party, thinks that the people of this country are stupid and will believe anything he says, but that is far from the case. The American people see straight through these lies. We will not be fooled by Biden's divisive language designed to turn us against one another.
