I want to tell you the worst kept secret in Washington. Republicans in Congress know their policy ideas aren’t actually popular (see cutting Social Security). So like any practiced politician they change the topic to something much more sinister - the culture wars.

Dividing our country on social issues isn’t new. In the 2000’s they said gay marriage was about to destroy our families. Now it’s trans kids who are an existential danger to our country? Give me a break.

However, there is one important difference today - with the rise of social media and misinformation these lies spread much quicker and empower extremists to a whole new level.

I’ve run against two MAGA extremists in my last two campaigns. I know what this problem looks like, and I know how to defeat it. Now, I need your help to make sure the rest of the country sees this culture war showmanship for what it is and why it’s so darn dangerous.
