I hope you had a wonderful week celebrating Valentine’s Day! As we look to the future of the 118th Congress, I’m thrilled to once again serve on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. 

From lowering energy costs to delivering for our health care systems, I am proud to fight for New Hampshire on this Committee.

The Energy and Commerce Committee has a broad overview of issues ranging from our energy systems to our health care workforce. As a Member of this prominent Committee in the 118th Congress, I will continue working to bring the voices of Granite Staters to Washington to deliver real results for our state.

I am working to increase American energy independence to lower costs and strengthen our national security. That’s why I was proud to support the Inflation Reduction Act, which has created more than 100,000 climate-friendly jobs since it was signed into law last year.

This is great news for our economy and our planet. I will continue working to lower energy costs and build the clean energy economy of the future.

This week, I was proud to announce nearly $19 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law heading to New Hampshire to combat dangerous chemicals like PFAS in our drinking water. 

Every Granite Stater should have confidence that their drinking water is clean and safe - thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we are one step closer to making that a reality. I will continue working to turn off the tap on dangerous chemicals and hold polluters accountable.

No one should be subject to domestic or sexual violence. The key to prevention is awareness and education.

This week, in partnership with the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, 32 schools participated in “RESPECT Week,” an educational campaign designed to inform students about healthy relationships, bystander intervention, and their rights under Title IX.

I was honored to receive a 100%+ score from the Humane Society in 2022 for my work protecting animals like Cali and Mo in Congress! I will always stand up for our beloved pets and animals.

It is always a pleasure to welcome Torres Small to the Granite State!

On Wednesday, President Biden nominated Xochitl Torres Small to serve as Deputy Secretary for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. A long-time friend of mine and New Hampshire, she is a proven leader for our rural communities and has the experience and dedication for this important role.

For rural communities in New Hampshire and across the country, I urge the Senate to swiftly confirm this nomination.

During Black History Month, we reflect on the incredible lives and contributions of Black Americans to our state and our country. 

Last year, I was proud to support legislation to grant long-overdue recognition of the 6888th Battalion, the only all-female, all-Black battalion during World War II. Among this group of American heroes was New Hampshire’s own Doris Moore.

Expanding access to housing Assistance: No one who has suffered from domestic violence should have to worry about finding safe and reliable housing while they recover. Thanks to funding in the Violence Against Women Act, survivors will be able to receive the support they need, when they need it.

Tax Season Is Here: The IRS announced they will begin accepting federal income tax returns. While you have until April 18th this year to file your return, the sooner you can get started, the better!
