Reflecting and learning from history is important. It’s been ten years since the Supreme Court handed down the Citizens United decision, giving special interest and dark money groups the power to drown out the voices of American people.

Alaskans are working to support their families and don’t always have time to track what is happening in the ‘swamp’. The bottom line is we need to return to simple representational government, where people elect representatives based on truth, not special interests.

Alaskan small businesses don’t have Super PACs to advocate on their behalf. Working parents don’t have endless sums to dump into elections to defend their interests.

And they shouldn’t have to. Our government is for the people, by the people. But with each election cycle, our voices become more and more diluted by the billions being spent by corporate donors.

It’s time for change. That’s why I’m walking the walk. Unlike my opponent, I am refusing to take a dime of corporate PAC money. My campaign is entirely run on your grassroots donations. I’ve been endorsed by End Citizens United, because they know I’m dedicated to transparency and getting money out of politics.

Together, let’s make this the last anniversary of Citizens United .
