Dear John,

I hope you’re having a glorious weekend so far. Please find a few updates below — on an upcoming tax information event my office is hosting as well as how to access grant opportunities.

Join the IRS, Delaware Taxpayer Advocate & Me for a Tax Filing Session

Tax filing season is here! My office is again hosting a tax filing event with special guests from the IRS and the Delaware Taxpayer Advocate to help answer your questions about filing your 2022 taxes. As a reminder, this year’s tax filing deadline falls on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, for most people. To speed up the process, the IRS recommends you file online as early as possible and opt for direct deposit.

To sign up for the event, you can do so by clicking here or by watching live on March 6th at Facebook.com/RepLBR.

Grants, Grants, Grants!

New grant opportunities are posted weekly at Grants.gov for an array of different causes. From infrastructure projects and health care programs to agriculture and business development – there are a lot of opportunities to apply for federal funding for projects that matter to you. To check your eligibility for a federal grant, click here.

For this week’s Constituent Corner, I am highlighting Ariell Daley who just graduated from the Wilmington Jobs Corps Center in January! With guidance and career training from Wilmington Job Corps, Ariell was able to become a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant and has both CPR and CNA license certifications. Ariell is currently enrolled at Del Tech where she is studying to earn her phlebotomy license. Afterward, she will apply for a bachelor’s degree program and continue her journey to become a Registered Nurse. And as we know, nurses are a vital part of our health care sector so thank you, Ariell, for following your dream to join the noble profession. As a reminder, If you are ever in need of assistance with federal agencies, my office is here to help you. My team can help with a wide range of issues including (but not limited to):

  • United States Postal Service
  • Social Security Administration
  • Veterans Affairs benefits and services
  • Passport and visa processing
  • Citizenship and naturalization

Yours in Service,
