Proud to Chair Energy & Minerals Committee

John,

I promised a new day in America when you helped me fire Nancy Pelosi and now, with Republicans in the majority in U.S. Congress, we are doing all we can to not only stop Joe Biden and his runaway train of socialist policy, but promote our shared conservative values that make America great. I am both humbled and proud to share that earlier this month I was named the Chair of the Energy & Minerals Committee. That means I am leading the committee that oversees permitting for our energy and mineral industries. Whether it be unlocking our vast mineral wealth in northern Minnesota and across the country or unleashing our American energy, restoring American energy and mineral dominance is a priority of mine to create jobs and grow our economy. Americans Deserve Clear Answers from Joe Biden

I repeatedly boast about how proud I am of our Fighter Wing in Duluth. Last week, our Bulldogs successfully shot down an unidentified object flying over Lake Huron. While our Bulldogs not surprisingly accomplished their mission in exceptional fashion, the Biden administration’s handling of surveillance balloons and unidentified objects in U.S. and North American airspace the past two weeks has been deeply concerning. The American people deserve clear answers from Biden about the surveillance balloons and unidentified objects and how our country will continue responding to these severe threats to our national security. Transparency continues to be a concern with this administration. Read more here.

Sec. Simon Must Investigate Voter Fraud

Putting a stop to fraud continues to be a priority if mine. Minnesotans must have confidence in our elections. Upon learning about disturbing news in St. Paul where a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient recently exclaimed in testimony at the State Capitol that they are already unlawfully voting, I worked with my congressional colleagues Tom Emmer, Brad Finstad, and Michelle Fischbach calling on Sec. of State Steve Simon to investigate these concerning claims. Election integrity remains as one of my biggest priorities and we must do all we can to make sure our voting process is fair and accurate.

Minnesota’s Anti-Jobs Environment Hurts Our Way of Life

It was disappointing to learn that a Huber Engineered Woods $440 million mill in Cohasset that would bring 150 jobs to the region was canceled earlier this month. I empathize with Cohasset Mayor Andy MacDonnell who called this a “devastating day for our community, our region, and our state.” The anti-jobs environment created by Minnesota Democrats exacerbated by our state’s antiquated permitting process is keeping job creators from coming to our state and preventing us from unleashing our economic engine. Ilhan Omar No Longer Representing U.S. on Foreign Affairs

Finally, I encourage you to check out my interview on WCCO-TV recently where I explained why Congress voted to remove Ilhan Omar from our Foreign Affairs committee. Omar has had a pattern of antisemitism throughout her political career and she has no place representing the U.S. on the Foreign Affairs committee.

Have a great weekend!
