John, we knew something had to change: In the wake of the
tragedy at Oxford High School in 2021, all we got were thoughts, prayers,
and nothing else from Michigan's Republican-led legislature.

That's why last year, we helped shift the political landscape in Michigan.
In the midterm election three months ago, voters made their voices loud
and clear, electing Gun Sense Candidates (including six Moms Demand Action
volunteers!) to take the majority in the state House and Senate.

People across the country once again demanded that lawmakers take action
to end gun violence after the horrific shooting on the Michigan State
University campus this week. And this time, Michigan's elected leaders are
listening: even before this week's tragedy, our allies in the state
legislature were discussing ways to strengthen Michigan's gun laws. This
Thursday, they introduced three different bills that can make a real
impact on curbing gun violence.

In legislatures across the country, elected leaders are debating gun
safety laws. What we do in the next few weeks could reshape the future of
gun safety for tens of millions of people. But with gun extremists pushing
dangerous new laws and a gun lobby going all out to stop ANY new gun
safety bills, we're counting on grassroots supporters to keep us going
strong.

We're working in every state to defeat the gun lobby's extremism and enact
stronger gun safety measures, and your support is crucial: [ [link removed] ]Fuel our
campaigns to pass stronger gun laws and work for a future free from gun
violence by making a donation to Everytown and Moms Demand Action today.
