Dear John, It’s petitioning season and as a candidate who prefers to be hands-on, I’m boots on the ground collecting signatures myself. Collecting signatures is a grind, but it’s one that I secretly love because I love talking to voters about our platform and why I’m running for City Controller. I actually love talking to voters, period. When I share that I’m the only candidate running to invest City funds into the local economy and to offer Philadelphians transparency with their taxpayer dollars, I have voters taking the pen out of my hand and eagerly signing our petition. The city of Philadelphia deserves investment and transparency — and Philadelphians know this. Even on a rainy day like today, I find myself having a good time petitioning. However, in order to collect the signatures we need to make the ballot, we need to hire people to help us petition. With myself also petitioning, I’m unable to do calltime to collect the funding to support our campaign. We need to raise $10,000 for petitioning. Will you chip in $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can to ensure that our campaign can make the ballot and allow me to be boots on the ground? Chip in now >> Sincerely, Alexandra Alexandra Hunt Candidate for Philly City Controller P.S. Here’s my outfit for petition collecting today. Seeing the systemic obstacles her brother faced inspired Alexandra to become an advocate and challenge barriers on the basis of race, gender, class, and ability. Now, Alexandra's running to be the Philly's next City Controller because the people in Philly work too hard for too little. And right now, line items in budgets create lines for food and health care. It's time to elect a City Controller who is going to prioritize the needs of the communities Philly's money comes from. Contribute Merch Shop FOLLOW ALEXANDRA ON Alexandra M.
