Earlier this month, we reached out with a different ask than normal: We
wanted to hear about your favorite ways to celebrate Black joy, in honor
of Black History Month.

So many members of this movement stepped up to share incredible
recommendations, and we wanted to make sure you all got to see their
responses, too.

So first up, we’re highlighting just some of the books that members of
Team Cori said help them celebrate Black joy and Black history:

📗 Claudette Colvin: Twice Toward Justice by Phillip Hoose, recommended by
C in Maryland

📘 Bitter Root by Chuck Brown, David F. Walker, and Sanford Greene,
recommended by Kasele in New York

📙 I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, recommended by Linda in
Massachusetts

📕 The Forerunner by Cori Bush, recommended by Ashton in Washington

Throughout the rest of the month, we’ll continue to share ways to
celebrate Black excellence and joy, so stay tuned!
