Republicans are STILL in disarray.
Aside from a few publicity stunts in which they tried to further restrict reproductive rights, voted to make it easier for corporations to cheat on their taxes, and passed a meaningless resolution rebuking socialism, House Republicans really haven’t accomplished anything since they took power.
In one sense, it’s a relief that Republicans can’t muster the competence to pass any significant legislation or even unify their party. They promised to take America backwards, and we’re glad that’s turning out to be much harder than they anticipated.
But even if he can’t hold his party together, Kevin McCarthy’s political games still threaten to undermine our national security.
After a Chinese spy balloon overflew our country, Americans are anxious about our national security and what the future holds for relations with China. During all this uncertainty, who is leading the House of Representatives?
Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
The same Speaker Kevin McCarthy who removed seasoned, experienced Democrats from their committees — including Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from the Intelligence Committee — simply out of spite and political retribution. Americans want to be reassured that there are steady, mature, considerate leaders during uncertain times. But McCarthy is playing politics with our national security.
Thank goodness we have a serious and rational President bolstering the United States’ economic independence from China and bringing vital manufacturing jobs critical to our national security back to American workers.
