Governor DeWine Appoints Majer to
Cleveland Municipal Court

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)?Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced the appointment of Mark Majer to the Cleveland Municipal Court.?

Majer will assume office on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023 and will be taking the seat formerly held by Pinky Carr, who resigned. He must run for election in 2023 to retain the seat.?

Majer began his career in law as a private attorney before moving on to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutors Office. Beginning in 2005, he held several positions in the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, including magistrate, chief judicial staff attorney, and chief legal counsel. In January 2021, he was appointed to serve on the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. Following his service as a judge, he reassumed his magistrate role and is presently performing those assigned duties.?

Majer earned his law degree from Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettite College of Law. Before pursuing his law degree, Majer received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University.?

Majer has served as a representative of the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court on the Cultural Competency Committee, the United States Marshalls Safe Surrender Project, and the United States Anti-Gang Task Force and is a member of the Prevention Committee. Majer served as the chairperson on the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court Local Rules Committee and is a certified mediator by the Supreme Court of Ohio. He has volunteered as a presenter for the Ohio?Eighth District Court of Appeals Annual Conference and served on the board of directors?for the Cuyahoga County Bar Association.
