Friend, sign our petition ASAP to demand Republicans STOP holding our economy hostage!

Friend, once again Republicans have sent the general public into a panic over the debt ceiling.

The U.S. hit its debt ceiling on Jan. 19 – and now, time is ticking to raise the limit before the U.S. defaults on our debt. If the debt ceiling is not raised, the negative economic effects could trigger a deep recession – and yet, Republicans seem more than prepared to accept that consequence.

Republicans have refused to increase the debt limit unless President Biden puts spending cuts on the table – but they have also yet to specify what exactly they want to cut.

Now that the GOP has given their word that they will not cut Social Security or Medicare – programs that make up more than a third of the federal budget – it seems unlikely that they will agree on another place to make spending cuts.

That leaves Republicans with three options: (1) go back on their word and cut Social Security and Medicare, (2) relent on their demands for spending cuts and allow the debt limit to be raised or (3) send the economy into a nosedive.

We cannot put up with this political circus any longer. That's why we're calling on our top supporters to sign our petition before midnight tonight to demand that Republicans STOP holding our economy hostage.

Friend, will you add your name to our petition now to tell Republicans that defaulting on our debt is not an option?
