Begin Message from Dave Min:
In 2021, an oil spill devastated Huntington Beach, destroying marine ecosystems and harming local businesses. After that disaster, I pledged to fight to end offshore drilling once and for all.
I’ve introduced a bill in the State Senate to do just that. This legislation would end all offshore drilling under existing leases in California state waters.
Our economy is shifting towards a green energy future, and it’s time we stand up to Big Oil and Gas and protect our treasured coastal ecosystems from the threat of further damage.
If you’re with me, add your name: Let’s end offshore drilling – permanently! [[link removed]]SIGN ON [[link removed]]
The offshore oil and gas platforms targeted by my legislation have already lasted beyond their intended lifespans, and they’re aging quickly – the longer they are allowed to operate, the larger of a threat they pose to our marine ecosystems, coastal communities, fisheries, and California’s coastal economies that depend on our treasured waters.
We can no longer justify that enormous risk just to benefit the fossil fuel industry’s bottom line.
I’m proud to fight for a comprehensive and thoughtful solution to this problem. Add your name to stand with me and demand an end to offshore oil and gas drilling in California! [[link removed]]
Thanks for making your voice heard.
