John, despite what they said during President Biden's State of the Union address earlier this month, it's clear that Republicans have their sights on Social Security.
My colleagues and I are working our hardest to fight back, but there's only so much we can do without a strong show of support from our constituents. One of my top priorities is giving you a seat at the table – that's why I created this petition. Will you add your name to the list of people who want to see Social Security secured? [[link removed]]

When I was sworn into Congress, I promised to be a strong voice for my constituents. And when Republicans talk about cutting Social Security, the thought is just incomprehensible.
Because when I hear plans to reduce Social Security, I think about all of the hardworking Americans who are counting on Congress to not only protect Social Security, but expand it.
I think about my constituents, from Elgin to Humboldt Park, who put their hard-earned money into Social Security. I think about the undocumented immigrants who put billions into Social Security every year and can't even reap the benefits.
With this in mind, I'm proud to say that I've co-sponsored the Social Security Fairness Act of 2023, which takes steps in the right direction toward securing Social Security for Americans across the country.
But with a Republican-led legislature, my colleagues and I know it's going to take more than just us to protect, and expand, Social Security. That's why I created this petition – to amplify YOUR voice and show Republicans that Social Security is here to stay. Will you sign it today? [[link removed]]
