Last night, Governor Greg Abbott delivered his State of the State
address where he named seven “emergency items” that state lawmakers are able to vote on immediately.
Cutting Property Taxes 🏠
Ending COVID Restrictions 💉😷 Universal School Choice 📚 Making
Schools Safer 🏫 Enforcing Stricter Bail Policies ⛓️ Securing the
Texas Border 🚧 Cracking Down on Fentanyl 💊
From property taxes to school choice and educational freedom to securing the
border and ending authoritarian COVID-19 mandates, the Republican Party of
Texas has been at the forefront on all of these issues. We are encouraged to see Governor Abbott promising decisive action on each of
these fronts in last night’s speech, and we are confident that Republicans in the State Legislature will do their part and get the job done.
We were especially pleased to see Governor Abbott’s willingness to end
COVID mandates in Texas. For over a year, we’ve been calling for a four-day special session to ban vaccine mandates in Texas. The
Republican Party of Texas is supporting the Texas COVID Vaccine Freedom Act, HB 81 by Rep. Harrison and SB 177 by Sen. Middleton, which
accomplishes Gov. Abbott’s emergency item.
Now, we would
like to hear from you! Which of the seven emergency items named by Governor Abbott ranks as your top issue that you want to see addressed in
this legislative session? Answer our quick poll
and let us know!
The results of this poll will help our elected
officials know which issues the grassroots in Texas are most fired up about and want to see prioritized first.
