Two months into the 118th Congress, my team and I have been hard at work for California's 44th District to help expand access to healthcare and fight climate change. Check out some of the things we've been working on:
Introduced The Energy Resilient Communities Act
This bill will create a federal program to build 100% clean energy microgrids to power communities in the event of extreme weather. We've seen storms fueled by climate change destroy communities in Los Angeles, Florida, and Texas, and creating resilent, clean energy grids will help keep the lights on in these communities and continue to fight climate change.
Introduced The Outdoors for All Act:
This bill will create a federal grant program to build urban parks in undeserved communities. Los Angeles is home to many communities without access to a nearby park or green space, which not only affects their quality of life, but contributes to climate change. These green spaces are crucial in our fight against climate change, as they reduce air and water pollution, but also serve as a place for communities to gather and bring nature's benefits to their doorstep.
Introduced The Ensuring Kids Have Access to Medically Necessary Dental Care Act
When kids need to see a dentist, they should be able to see a dentist. However, many low-income families faces barriers to dental care, including access and cost, which can lead to lifelong complications like brain infections. This bill will fill gaps in coverage under Children's Health Insurance Program to ensure no child is left without access to proper dental care.
