I want to tell you about Latino Victory — an organization dedicated to building political power in the Latino community. They work to make sure that the voices and values of Latinos are reflected at every level of government, and in the policies that drive our country forward.

Growing up, my Abuela Yeya would tell me stories about coming from Cuba with my mother in tow during the freedom flights in the late 1960s to pursue the American Dream. She then worked 70+ hours a week in a factory for starvation wages in unsafe conditions to support her family– a story that many Latino immigrants know far too well and are still living today.

In the past midterm elections, Latino Victory worked hard to empower Latino voters, increase Latino turnout, and develop the bench of Latino candidates who support progressive policies — all with the goal of making Latino voters a deciding factor in political elections up and down the ballot.

As part of their work, they supported more than 80 candidates across 17 key states — including me.

I’m living my Abuela’s wildest dreams, and I’m committed to fight with Latino Victory in her honor to ensure Latino voices, stories, and struggles are heard.
