On January 6, Lloyd Cruz walked into the U.S. Capitol building…then walked out. Just like thousands of other patriots did, peacefully and lawfully.
He committed no crimes.
But the FBI sprang into action, looking to throw Trump-supporters into prison. So they used two unlawful general warrants to collect cell phone location data and digital metadata to identify Lloyd as a potential suspect.
Even after the FBI identified Lloyd as someone who may have committed an unspecified crime, they had no probable cause to arrest him for anything.
So the FBI flew to Missouri to interrogate Lloyd to see if they could find probable cause to charge him with something…and came up with two potential misdemeanors!
Let me tell you, the case against my client, Lloyd Cruz, was launched by one of the worst general warrants in American history. And I suspect many other January 6 defendants face the loss of their freedoms because of these outrageous, illegal actions by the FBI.
What the FBI did is absolutely terrifying…and if you and I let them get away with it, America is done for.
