Dear Friends, lots of new content and events:
Deep State Radio Election Podcasts – For the next several weeks Simon is joining David Rothkopf and Tara McGowan for a series of Deep Sate Radio 2022 Election podcasts.
The first episode just dropped and features the three of them going over the latest polling and election news. Simon offers an encouraging report from Las Vegas where he had just visited the campaign of Senator Cortez Masto. Do listen, and follow Deep State Radio on Twitter for announcements about their next election podcasts, and the other great programming DSR produces each week.
Tuesday, Oct 18th 1pm ET – A Conversation with Bill Kristol - In the last few years a courageous set of Republicans have fought the rise of MAGA and Trumpism in their own party. But with MAGA now clearly outlasting Trump, and deepening its hold on the GOP, what is the future of the anti-MAGA movement inside the GOP?
To explore this vital topic we are pleased that one of the most important and visible leaders of the anti-MAGA movement inside the GOP, Bill Kristol, will be joining us for a live, public discussion on Tuesday, October 18th at 1pm ET. You can RSVP for the event here, and learn more about Bill and his essential work here.
Wed, Oct 19th 1pm ET – Democrats and The Hispanic Vote – A New NDN Presentation - Please join NDN for a new deep dive presentation on the highly-contested and much-discussed Hispanic vote. In this 20-25 minute presentation Simon will review the history of the Hispanic vote over the past two decades, and talk about what he sees this year. This presentation will take place on Wednesday, October 19th at 1pm ET. You can RSVP here.
Spoiler alert - we are not in the sky is falling camp, and think that the Democratic Party's strategy towards this fast-growing community has been among it's most successful in the past generation of American politics.
Come watch and see why.
Fri, Oct 21st 1pm ET – With Democrats Things Get Better – NDN’s Signature Presentation – On Friday Simon will be doing the last showing of With Dems this election cycle. Always new and updated, NDN is a 25-30 minute deep dive on American politics since the Cold War ended and a new age of globalization began. And what we find is that when Democrats are in the White House things get better; when Rs are in power not so much. You can RSVP for our Friday showing here.
At its core With Dems is a plea to Democrats to make winning the economic argument with the GOP a much higher priority, as we just cannot get done what we want as a party if we continue to trail Rs by 10 points or more on the economy. Many of the economic charts NDN has popularized and become known for, including ones used regularly by the White House, come from this presentation.
We’ve held four terrific video conversations in recent days. We hope you can check them out:
Yes, Americans Are Better Off - Are we better off under Biden? Noted economist Rob Shapiro says yes. Come watch a conversation about what may be the most important issue in the 2022 elections - the economy, and whether Dems time in power have made things better.
David Rothkopf on Russia - Noted historian and author David Rothkopf joined NDN on Oct 4th for an extended conversation about America's conflict with Russia. It was a great discussion. Do watch, and share with others.
Tara McGowan on Countering MAGA’s Noise Machine - Our conversation with Tara McGowan about battling the rightwing noise machine was one of the most interesting and enjoyable conversations we've had all year. Strong recommend.
Tom Bonier on the Surge of Women Voting and Registering - Come watch a timely discussion of an important new development in the 2022 election - the surge of women registering to vote and voting. If this trend holds it could have a big impact on 2022.
With Democrats Things Get Better - With Dems is a 30 minute deep dive on American politics since the Cold War ended and a new age of globalization began. What it finds is that when Dems are in power things get better, w/Rs not so much.
Best, Team NDN
