Dear John,

In the midst of freezing winter conditions, vulnerable children and their families

have been left shaken to the core and without shelter by the devastating

earthquakes which have killed thousands in Türkiye and Syria.

Our heart goes out to everyone who has lost a loved one. The situation is critical. As the hours pass, the need for emergency humanitarian assistance becomes more and more urgent with many people still trapped in the crisis.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO DO MORE

The ICRC is present in Syria, where people have already suffered twelve long years of conflict. The deadly quakes have added a layer to the humanitarian tragedy and have caused further despair among those already living in extreme poverty.

The ICRC, working closely with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, is providing essential emergency medical equipment, blankets, mattresses, food, and other essential items to people in urgent need in Aleppo, Homs, Latakia and Tartous.

The humanitarian situation in Syria is dire and cannot be ignored. By joining forces, we can work in a really effective way to get aid where it’s needed most. Once again, we count on your support!
