Monday, Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02) visited the USS Cole, based out of Norfolk.
Nearly 23 years ago, the ship was the victim of a senseless terrorist attack.

Tuesday, new inflation numbers were released showing that prices continued to
rise in January, though slower than in December. As some of our women pointed
out, it was also Valentine's Day, so if you thought flowers or dinner was more
expensive this year, inflation is to blame.

Wednesday, Senator Katie Boyd Britt (R-AL) was named the ranking member on the
Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee. Katie is the first freshman
senator ever appointed to the slot! This crucial committee oversees agencies
tasked with keeping Americans safe and securing our Southern border.

Thursday, new Reps. Jen Kiggans (VA-02) and Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05) joined
Speaker McCarthy and other colleagues for a tour of the Southern border.
Jen and Lori both joined Winning For Women and other female leaders for a trip
to the border in August. The impacts of the border crisis are felt around the
country, including in Jen and Lori's districts.

Also Thursday, President Biden gave remarks on the objects that have been shot
down in U.S. airspace over the last week. Many were unimpressed with his lack
of clarity, includingRep. Stephanie Bice (OK-05).
