Hey John, I wanted to bump Wednesday’s email to the top of your inbox.
CREW’s latest investigation just showed that Donald Trump may have funneled $1 million to support the “audit” of the 2020 election in Georgia – just like he did in Arizona.
CREW investigated a money trail coming from Trump’s political action committee, finding that $1 million flowed from the PAC through various groups to possibly end up with an effort to audit the 2020 election in Georgia – just like in Arizona. That’s another example of a purportedly objective audit that may have been funded by the very person trying to change the outcome of the election.
John, we already know that Trump was spreading election conspiracies — but he’s apparently funding them too.
CREW is gearing up to fight back and defend democracy, but we need your help to do it.
We have tough fights ahead to protect our democracy and hold politicians like Donald Trump accountable for their corruption. Help us reach 1,000 donors defending American democracy before the end of the week →
Thanks for stepping up,

John,
The failed attempt to “audit” the 2020 election in Arizona was bankrolled by a mysterious $1 million donation.
Last month, that mysterious donor was revealed to be…Trump himself.
A watchdog group called Documented tracked the cash as it passed from Trump’s fund through an allied conservative group, and from there to a shell company, which in turn handed the money to contractors and individuals involved in the Arizona audit.
And now, folks, we have some big news to share: An examination by CREW of campaign finance and tax filings suggests that a $1 million contribution made by former President Donald Trump’s political action committee in 2021 may have ended up supporting an effort to audit the 2020 election in Georgia.
The trail of contributions that appears to stem from Trump’s PAC resembles the same path as the money funneled to the Arizona audit.
John, this goes to show, once again, that these “audits” were a complete sham. They weren’t about validating election results. They were an attempt to overturn the will of the people and install Trump in the White House.
It’s painfully evident that Trump, dark money groups, and other politicians are working in concert and chipping away at our democracy.
CREW has been hard at work since then to fight Trump’s lawlessness and corruption – and taking on anyone operating in the shadows and attacking our democracy.
To do our work, we rely on grassroots support. We want to recruit 1,000 donors this week to help us fight Trump and dark money in politics and to protect our democracy. Can we count on you to chip in this week?
Since CREW’s founding in 2003, we have achieved major successes holding those who abuse the system to account, and we’re not backing down now.
It’s time to push for accountability for Trump’s abuses of power. Help us get the job done by making a donation to CREW today →
Thanks,
