Hunters have donated over 20,000 pounds of game meat to hungry families

What do you get when you pair a great love of hunting with a passion for helping those in need??Food from the Field.?It's an innovative program led by Wyoming's?First Lady Jennie Gordon to help our most vulnerable neighbors in Wyoming.

Since the inception of the program hunters have donated over 20,000 pounds of game meat. That makes a difference for fighting hunger in Wyoming.?

Food from the Field?is a partnership between Wyoming Hunger Initiative, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Wyoming Department of Agriculture and participating processors to streamline game meat donations to food pantries statewide. Donations?continue building a sustainable future fighting hunger in Wyoming. All deer and elk undergo appropriate CWD testing to ensure safety prior to entering the food bank system.

March 10 at noon is the deadline?to enter a raffle to win a Commissioner's License to support the Food from the Field initiative.?A limited number of tickets are available.?

April 17 -?Deadline to apply for moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat and wild bison for residents and nonresidents.?

Super Tag raises $1.87 million or wildlife conservation

The Wyoming Super Tag raffle raised $1.87 million for conservation in 2023. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department?s program saw another record-breaking round of ticket sales, bolstered by hunters vying for 11 chances to get a license for the state?s premier big and trophy game.

North Jackson Game Warden named Wildlife Officer of the Year

North Jackson Senior Game Warden Jon Stephens has been named the 2022 Shikar-Safari Wildlife Officer of the Year for Wyoming. The award, given annually in every state and Canadian province by the Shikar-Safari Club International, honors a wildlife officer whose efforts during the year display outstanding performance and achievement.
