John,
A Fulton County judge just released a portion of Georgia’s special purpose grand jury’s report on Georgia’s 2020 presidential election.
First, the grand jury concluded that one or more witnesses in a probe into possible election meddling by former President Donald Trump may have lied under oath, AND they also concluded that there was no significant voter fraud in Georgia’s 2020 presidential election.
John, this is just one portion of the report. We have to keep up the pressure to make sure that politicians like Donald Trump are held accountable when they break the law and undermine our democracy, and that leaders who lie under oath are held accountable as well. We filed a criminal complaint the day after news broke of Trump’s phone call to the GA Secretary of State seeking to “find 11,780 votes”, and we’ve been pushing for accountability ever since.
CREW’s mission is accountability in politics, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure that no one skirts the law and gets off scot free. Make a donation today to make sure we hold leaders like Trump accountable for breaking the law and undermining our democracy →
Thanks,

John,
Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden in Georgia by nearly 12,000 votes in 2020. But as we all know, he refused to accept the election results.
Trump called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, pressuring him to change the state’s election results. That is clear and incontrovertible evidence that he attempted to pressure Georgia state officials to overturn the will of Georgia’s voters in the 2020 presidential election.
“I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have…Because we won the state.” - Donald Trump

In 2021, when this call was made public, CREW urged an immediate investigation into Trump’s conduct for his gross abuse of power, and clear violations of federal and state laws protecting our elections. We were one of the first to call out Trump’s actions as what they were: likely serious crimes.
A panel in Georgia convened to consider whether Trump and others committed crimes in trying to overturn his defeat in Georgia. And their report could be made public as soon as this week.
If the grand jury’s report recommends prosecution, that means Donald Trump could soon be the first former president to be charged with a criminal offense.
John, no one – not even the president – is above the law. That’s why CREW continues to work for an accountable and transparent government.

Trump appears to have illegally conspired to deprive the people of Georgia of their right to vote and have their votes counted, conspired to intimidate Georgia election officials to falsify the count of votes in the 2020 election, and attempted to deprive or defraud the residents of Georgia of a fair election process, among other possible crimes.
President Trump’s conduct violates not only the law, but the foundation on which our democracy is built.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis requested that a special grand jury be seated to aid an investigation into President Trump and his colleague’s actions.
Over about six months, the grand jurors have considered evidence and heard testimony from dozens of witnesses, including high-profile Trump associates and top state officials.
It’s important that we continue to hold politicians to account – they too are beholden to the law.
At CREW, we use aggressive legal actions, in-depth investigations, and innovative policy and reform work to fight for a government that is ethical, accountable, and open.
We’re going to fight to continue to hold our leaders accountable, but we need your help to do it. Please, make a donation to CREW today to help us continue the work toward a more ethical and transparent government →
