Immigration Reform and the Impact on Children: Town Hall Discussion in Houston on Feb 23 - Join a town hall discussion around immigration reform and its impact on children co-hosted by Rice University’s Baker Institute Center for the United States and Mexico, Center for Houston’s Future, Children at Risk, Lorelle Media and Rational Middle On Thursday, February 23 at 5 p.m at Rice University in Houston. A panel of experts will discuss the unique challenges facing immigrant children and their families. They will also consider the effect of U.S. immigration policies on immigrant children, as well as common-sense solutions to address the immigration crisis. All are invited to ask questions and participate in the dialogue.

Texas Alliance for Life Urges Texas Supreme Court to Stop Current Form of the Proposed San Antonio “Justice” Charter Amendment - Texas Alliance for Life’s emergency petition for writ of mandamus shows that the proposed charter amendment, which contains six distinct amendments shoe-horned into one proposition, violates state law and must be blocked and separated into distinct proposals. Among the six proposals is language that would de-prioritize and decriminalize state law that protects unborn babies from abortion from conception through birth, except in rare cases to protect the mother’s life.

Biden Admin Must Be Transparent on Unidentified Objects - “It was a busy weekend for the United States military, which has now shot down three unidentified objects over North American airspace in as many days...President Biden needs to explain what happened and just how concerned the American people should be. And he needs to consult with Congress and share the information he has with us. Until that happens, speculation will only intensify," said Senator John Cornyn.
