John –
Last month, after sending a few emails about how we need to fight
everywhere, I got hundreds and hundreds of emails from people like you
who are ready to do exactly that.
Folks are sick of seeing Democrats left behind and watching MAGA
Republicans waltz into office unopposed and unchecked.
There were messages from people like Andrew –
“[T]he Democratic Party is much too
lax in confronting the Republican Party. This needs to end. That red
stuff just multiplies and will be nothing but trouble for the future
of the nation and our kids and grandkids.”
From people like George –
“[W]hen I researched and found how
many districts had no opposition iI went ballistic. How can I
help?”
And from people like Linda –
“We cannot stand by and let the
MGT’s of our country take over and destroy it.”
I heard from people in red states like Idaho and Texas who were
shocked that someone cared about the uncontested races in their
backyards.
And from people in blue states like Oregon and California who were
shocked they didn’t know about those uncontested races before.
This isn’t a blue state/red state problem. It’s an American
problem. And it’s going to take people like you from all over America
to do something about it.
But here’s what I wanted to tell you about these messages and why I
wanted to share them. It’s easy to feel powerless when you think
you’re all on your own.
But you’re not alone.
These messages prove it. There are people all across the country
who feel just like you – and who are ready to fight for democracy
side-by-side with you and me.
That’s powerful stuff, right there.
We’re building a coalition right now, and in the next few weeks
I’ll be able to share more about how we can work together to fight for
democracy.
But in the meantime, I just wanted you to know that I see you, and
I hear you – and that people all over the country are with you.
–Marcus
P.S.
If you’ve been wondering if anyone reads the emails you send, now
you know. Our team is pretty lean so we can’t write back as often or
as fast as we’d like. But we see you. We hear you.
Loud and clear.
Keep it coming. Let’s go.
