For Older People, the Pandemic Isn't Over "Americans Do Not Agree on the Duty to Protect Others."
People over 65 suffer the majority of hospitalizations and deaths from Covid in the United States. What is owed to populations at highest risk of death or severe harm from a public health problem when risk can be reduced through collective actions? “The foundational questions about ethics are about what we owe others,” said Hastings Center research scholar Nancy Berlinger in an interview with the New York Times. “Americans do not agree about the duty to protect others.” Read the article.
