John —
Last month, our nation bore witness to yet another tragic act of police brutality. This time, it was in Memphis, Tennessee, where Tyre Nicholas was murdered by officers from the Memphis Police Department. Another life stolen, another Black man whose story was cut too short.
We know it’s time for our laws to reflect this unquestionable truth: that Black lives do, indeed, matter. That’s why I spoke to NPR about the path forward and how we can make all of our communities feel safe – you can listen to my interview by clicking here.
We need public safety and accountability in the United States. We cannot turn a blind eye to the realities of police brutality. I’m fighting to rein in police misconduct, racial profiling, and excessive force. It’s time to act.
If you agree, please add your name to demand Congress take action to ensure public safety and accountability.
Thank you,
Marilyn
