Where are the voices of feminist, disability rights, reproductive rights and justice, racial justice, and environmental advocates in discussions of heritable genome editing? We’ve put them right at the heart of CGS’ free, two-part symposium, “Genetic Justice from Start to Summit” on February 27 (9–10:30am PST) and February 28 (9–11am PST).

You’ll have to look a bit harder to find them at the upcoming Third International Summit on Human Genome Editing. Their scarcity is all the more glaring at a moment when the return of “CRISPR baby” scientist He Jiankui and the musings of the Summit organizing committee chair highlight how far the discussion has strayed from key concerns about social justice and human rights.

Find out more about the events and speakers. Join us on February 27 and 28 to discuss how heritable genome editing would undermine a fair and inclusive future.
