5 REASONS 2020 WILL BE A GOOD YEAR FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Michelle Winters
Dear Friend,

The start of a new year is a time for both reflection and for looking ahead. As I think about the housing affordability crisis our community faces it is clear that we can't stop or slow our pace. Now, more than ever, our neighbors need us to push for new, innovative ways to make sure everyone has a place to live that they can affordespecially the roughly 9,000 households living on 30 percent of our Area Median Income (about $36,000 for a family of four).
As I reflect on the progress we made in 2019 and look ahead at the opportunities of 2020, I have 5 reasons to be optimistic about affordable housing in the coming year. What would you add to the list?

I look forward to working with you in our mission to increase the supply of affordable housing right here in Arlington.

Happy New Year!
