Abortion stigma works to shame and discredit those seeking or providing abortion. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Our review of research from around the world identified many ways that stigma makes it harder for people to access abortion. Looking at these trends, we can see that a world free from abortion stigma would ensure that pregnant people considering abortion have:
* Social and financial support
* Accurate and easily-available information
* Affordable services from ethical health systems
* Swift treatment from affordable providers
* Plentiful, local care
