Held by the Taliban government in a prison in the Afghan capital and denied any contact with his family since 26 January, the Franco-Afghan reporter Mortaza Behboudi needs your support more than ever to end his arbitrary detention. Sign the Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and #FreeMortaza support committee petition for his immediate release!

Mortaza Behboudi fled to France several years ago because he was being threatened in the country of his birth. He was arrested by the Taliban in Kabul on 7January, just 48 hours after returning to Afghanistan for the purpose of reporting. RSF is coordinating the support committee ([link removed]) that was created on 9 February and includes representatives of the 15 French media outlets and production companies for which he has worked, who have signed a joint appeal ([link removed]) for his release. He is well known in the French media world and is respected and appreciated by his fellow journalists.
We ask you to urgently sign this petition ([link removed]) for the Taliban authorities to end this nonsensical situation and to free Mortaza Behboudi without delay so that he can return to France and to his family. #FreeMortaza!
Thanks for your support.
