In June 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, revoking 50 years of precedent and resurrecting draconian abortion restrictions across the country.
Thanks to anti-abortion policy written in 1849, if you live in Wisconsin right now and need to have an abortion, you have to leave the state—with almost no exceptions.
Now, there’s a race to fill an open seat on the Wisconsin State Supreme Court that will determine control of the Court and whether or not it strikes down a law passed before women even had the right to vote. This election could also determine whether every Wisconsinite has their vote counted in future elections, including the 2024 presidential election.

Wisconsinites’ abortion rights are on the line. Their right to vote is on the line. The 2024 presidential election is on the line. Our democracy is on the line.
It all comes down to this one race.
For the past 15 years, the Wisconsin State Supreme Court has been under conservative control. The current 4-3 conservative majority has undermined Wisconsinites’ freedom to vote by banning ballot drop boxes, allowing a voter purge, and upholding GOP-drawn gerrymandered maps that dilute the voting power of Black Wisconsinites.
No matter where you live, the race for the open Wisconsin’s State Supreme Court seat will inevitably affect you.
In such a close swing state, the justices on the bench could influence the entire 2024 presidential election by further restricting access to the ballot box. That’s why we need a progressive candidate to secure the Court majority.
We could change the tide for Wisconsin and the rest of the nation, but only if we act now. Find out how you can take action to help make sure Wisconsin progressives get out to vote and make their voices heard.
