Dear Members and Supporters,

In such turbulent times with the Tories riding roughshod over our economy, our public services and so much more we wanted to let you know about several events and national actions which are coming up. We very much hope you will join us in supporting them.

Before we do that, we just wanted to direct you to this Emergency earthquake fundraiser ([link removed]) for the people of Turkey which has been set up by our friends at Day-Mer Community Centre in London, Please support this if you can.

Here are some important dates for your diaries!

March 1: People’s Assembly Online Rally - Support all Strikes - Bring Down the Tories.

Join us live on The People’s Assembly Facebook page ([link removed]) on March 1st at 7.30pm.

We will hear from Striking Workers, Trade Unionists & speakers from across the movement.

With the Cost of Living Crisis biting ever deeper into people’s pockets, working class solidarity is at an all time high. There is strong public support for the strikes and protests. It’s vital that we seize this moment and come together as a movement to demand change and bring down this brutal Tory Government. Help us build for the upcoming coordinated days of strike action and protests and please share the Facebook event ([link removed]) . Only a united opposition against this government can bring about the change we need to see. Please join us on March 1 as we discuss our next steps as a movement.

March 11: SOS NHS National demonstration Assemble 12 Noon (Tottenham Court Road).

SOS NHS DEMONSTRATION – END THE CRISIS – SUPPORT THE STRIKES

Saturday 11 March – 12pm – Central London, NW1 3AA

A call for support from SOS NHS:

“We do not need to remind you about the unprecedented crisis in the NHS, but we do need to ensure our voice is heard. We also stand by NHS staff forced to take strike action and seek to expose the political choices this Government is making to underfund and privatise the NHS.

The demonstration will assemble at 12pm Midday, on Saturday 11 March, at the northernmost end of Tottenham Court Road (Euston end) opposite Warren Street Underground Station NW1 3AA and then march to Whitehall for a closing rally with speeches outside Downing Street.”

Please join us on March 11 and please help to mobilise for the demo by organising coaches and following the steps on the SOS NHS Website ([link removed]) including downloadable posters and a model motion in support of the demonstration.

On 15 March members of the National Education Union (NEU) will begin two days of strike action in their campaign to win a fully funded, above-inflation pay rise.

The last national strike day on 1 February was a huge success with half a million workers from several major trade unions taking coordinated strike action and attending rallies and protests around the UK, The NEU, PCS as well as other trade unions hope to make March 15 an even bigger day of action including the demonstration in London.

The London march will assemble in Hyde Park at 12 noon and march to Trafalgar Square, for speeches and carnival games. Please support this as well as pickets and rallies in your area. More information can be found at the Facebook page here ([link removed]) .

Check out Strike Map ([link removed]) for pickets in your area and visit RightToStrike.org ([link removed]) for a list of actions you can take against the Tory’s latest anti-union laws.
