Dear John,
For the past couple of years for Valentine’s Day, I’ve partnered with local girl scouts and schools to make and deliver Valentines for Vets. On Friday, I visited Cooley Ranch Elementary School where 2nd and 4th grade students made some thoughtful valentine's cards for our local veterans. I delivered these cards to the American Legion Post 106 in Redlands and heard from our local veterans about how much these cards and acts of kindness mean to them.
I also spoke about the importance of school meals and nutrition at Rialto Child Nutrition’s Black History Month celebration.
For so many across our state and our region, school is the one place where kids may have access to a healthy meal. As a parent, I know how important school lunches are for young kids as they’re developing and growing. That's why I've fought to deliver resources for our schools to keep our kids healthy and safe.
I also had the honor of swearing in my good friend Assemblymember James Ramos, the first California Native American to be elected to the California State Assembly. Assemblymember Ramos represents the 45th District in the California State Assembly which includes the cities of San Bernardino, Rialto, Redlands, Fontana, Highland, Mentone and Muscoy.
I will continue to prioritize our community, our students and our veterans. To see more of what I’ve done around the Inland Empire this year, visit “Pete in the District”, our interactive map. Throughout the year, continue to check back and see where I go throughout the region.
Thanks,
Pete Aguilar Member of Congress
