When Chris announced he was running for re-election last month, we honestly weren’t sure what the response would be.

Chris has been able to count on well over 100,000 individual donors in the past. Grassroots donations have historically made up the bulk of our fundraising, but our campaign hadn’t been put to the test like this since 2018. So we knew we could not take any support for granted.

So when we hit send on that first email, we put our faith in this movement and hoped people would have Chris’ back once again.

And you did! The contributions started rolling in.

$35 from Nigel in Westport, then $10 from Wendy in New Haven, and another $100 from Christine in Norwalk. And they just kept coming.

Honestly, it was humbling. The outpouring of support meant a lot to Chris and to all of us. But we cannot afford to slow down now.
