Last month, reproductive rights organizers rallied at the Wisconsin State Capitol to begin the fight to overturn our state’s abortion ban that went into effect last year.
As Jennifer Knox, the national organizing director for Working Families Power, told Wisconsin Public Radio:
"This is the single place in 2023 that really does reflect that abortion rights are on the ballot... The single most important thing that people can do across the country is invest some of their time over the next two and a half months in Wisconsin."
Wisconsin was one of 13 states that had previously defunct abortion bans triggered immediately when Roe vs. Wade was stuck down in June. In the State Senate, my fellow Democrats and I introduced a referendum to allow Wisconsin voters to have a say in their reproductive rights – however, it was stuck down by a party-line vote by Republicans.
So, whether we’re fighting for abortion access through the Wisconsin Supreme Court election or through the state legislature, we need your help to give Wisconsinites the chance to overturn this 1849 law.
If you’re with me, consider chipping in $10, $20, or even $50 today to support our work in fighting for reproductive health care!
Thanks for joining me in this fight,
