Preparing for Medicaid Unwinding
Dear John,
In 45 days, requirements to Medicaid enrollment will be changing drastically, putting the healthcare of millions of people at risk. Become an active member and register for our Medicaid Unwinding webinar below.
Webinar: Weathering the Storm: Keeping Immigrants and their Families Covered During the Medicaid Unwinding
The 2020 Families First Coronavirus Response Act created a “continuous coverage” requirement, ensuring that anybody enrolled in Medicaid would stay enrolled without going through the process of redeterminations. On April 1, 2023, however, the pandemic-era’s “continuous coverage” requirement is coming to an end. States have 12 months to initiate Medicaid redeterminations for more than 80 million people nationwide – a process that is virtually guaranteed to result in a tidal wave of people losing their health insurance. Although this “unwinding” puts all people enrolled in Medicaid at risk of coverage loss, immigrants and their family members face unique obstacles to remaining covered. These include language barriers, privacy concerns and fear of immigration consequences. However, as advocates, enrollment professionals, and allies, we can help! On Thursday, February 23 at 12 noon EST, we'll be hearing from national experts and state advocates about how to keep immigrants and their families covered and learn how you can partner with PIF in these efforts.
This is an active member exclusive event. Become an active member below to register for the webinar.
