John,
I wanted to share what motivated me to run for office. But first, tonight marks my mid-month fundraising deadline. Can you make a contribution of any amount to help me reach my mid-month goal?

I was a civil rights attorney involved in a lawsuit against the Georgia State Prison in Reidsville on behalf of 6,000 African-American inmates. While incarcerated, these inmates were experiencing a wide range of constitutional violations of their rights at the Georgia State Prison.
Thankfully, the federal judge heard the case and decided that the state must improve those conditions and rectify the constitutional violations that inmates were experiencing. However, every time we would have status conferences, our state’s attorney general would come back and say that the legislature had not appropriated the money necessary to make those changes.
After hearing that for three and a half years, I was very frustrated and decided that I needed to run for the legislature to help deliver real justice for Georgians.
I ran for the Georgia House of Representatives, the Georgia Senate, and then the U.S. House of Representatives because I wanted to serve my community — and my country — further. I’m willing to work with anyone to help Georgians and Americans, but the truth is, our ability to make meaningful change is hampered as long as we’re the minority party.
Will you make a contribution to my mid-month goal to support my mission of public service and reclaiming the House in 2024?
