Dear John,

There’s a lot we can learn from the 2019 campaign.

We saw some great results in online voter engagement.

A crucial part of any election campaign is getting people out and voting. But before you can mobilise voters, you have to get them registered.

Our Start Voting website made it quick and easy for people to get on the electoral register or get a postal vote.

You can read more about our voter registration strategy in our Impact Report.

Our Get out the Vote campaign tried to familiarise people with voting. Things that some might take for granted, like how, when and where to vote, can be daunting for first-time voters.

This campaign reached 8.2 million people across social media.

But Best for Britain didn’t work alone. We funded and supported Inspire.EU in their ‘Yes I Will Vote’ campaign which reached 4.7 million young people online.

The ‘Vote for Your Future’ campaign drove 150,000 clicks from young people to the registration site in target seats in one week.

Ultimately, our wide-ranging efforts couldn’t translate into enough votes in the right places. But it’s important to remember what did work so we can improve our campaigning in the future.

Best wishes,

Cary Mitchell
