I have a lifelong love of science, John.

As a college student, I went to Stanford to study engineering on an ROTC scholarship to follow in Sally Ride's footsteps and become an astronaut. After school, I joined the Air Force, serving as a program engineer on anti-ballistic missile defense programs. I earned my MS in Technology and Policy from MIT. Later on I taught high school chemistry in North Philadelphia.

If there's one thing my decades in STEM have taught me, it's that science and politics aren't as different as they might seem. Today we need leaders who look to the data, suss out potential biases, and reject misinformation. And as the climate crisis continues to threaten America and the world, we need science-based solutions.

That's why I have a track record of working with colleagues from across the ideological spectrum to find real solutions to the severe problems we face today:

* We launched the first-ever Women in STEM Caucus to support women pursuing STEM careers because STEM education is a driving force behind our economy.

* I co-chair the Bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus – the only bipartisan climate caucus in Congress.

* I helped to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which makes historic investments in clean energy and is expected to reduce emissions by approximately 40% by 2030.

* Did you know our district is home to multiple semiconductor manufacturers? I helped pass the CHIPS Act, which made our supply chains more resilient and helped us to outcompete China.

But our work is far from over. Too many Republicans have opposed the scientific consensus on issues ranging from COVID-19 to climate change, economic strategy, and even the nonpartisan counting of ballots.

Too many in the GOP don't listen to the data; instead, they promote misinformation and conspiracy theories. But I'm committed to making the facts shine through, and I'm ready to get back to work for the country and PA-06.

Please, John, can I count on you to donate $5 now and help me ensure that our path to progress continues?
