Friend, as the death toll passes 30,000, hundreds of thousands of children and families are facing desperate conditions following last week’s earthquakes and aftershocks in Syria and Turkey.
The scale of devastation is incomprehensible but to put this intensifying situation into perspective: displaced families with children are sleeping in the streets, malls and schools — everywhere but home. Schools are closed for at least this week. Critical infrastructure has been destroyed and the risk of disease outbreaks is on the rise.
All of this is occuring as sub-zero temperatures are in the forecast and snow and freezing rain are likely. UNICEF is continuing to ramp up relief and recovery efforts to meet the moment for every child affected. And you can help now before things get worse.

Time is of the essence and UNICEF is adapting their emergency response as the crisis unfolds.
Teams are distributing supplies as far as possible — reaching thousands of children in Syria and Turkey with safe water, hygiene kits, Child-Friendly Spaces and protective care.
Your gift today will stretch far and wide to ensure that more of this support reaches children. Your generosity will help children stay warm as temperatures drop, meet their most pressing needs, and offer a beacon of hope in the midst of all the destruction. >
