You’ve been hearing a lot from us lately about how the Blackstone Legal Fellowship is equipping the next generation of leaders—including those on the frontlines of the fight for life.
This is especially encouraging as we kick off what is known in pro-life circles as “Life Week.”
Across the country, your pro-life brothers and sisters will be gathering at numerous events this week to celebrate life and stand for its protection from conception to natural death.
One of the highlights of the week will certainly be the March for Life on Friday in Washington, D.C. A team from ADF will be attending, and we’re excited to be livestreaming from the event on our Facebook page. (Like our Facebook page if you haven’t already to ensure you don’t miss out!)
But protecting life is about more than one special week in January—it is a commitment we make all year long.
We know the fight to overturn Roe v. Wade, save innocent lives, and protect women from the evils of abortion isn’t someone else’s fight. It’s our fight. It’s your fight. Right now.
But the louder the pro-life movement becomes, the more abortion activists will attempt to silence it. In fact, more and more pro-life advocates are seeing their freedoms attacked. From pro-life students on campus and advocacy groups like the March for Life, to sidewalk counselors, medical professionals, and pro-life pregnancy centers—the pro-life movement needs a strong legal defense now.
After all, the abortion battle may be fueled by lobbyists and lawmakers, but some of the greatest fights will happen in the courtroom.
That’s why ADF and our pro-life allies are working on abortion cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.
In fact, the justices are set to hear such a case on March 4: June Medical Services v. Gee.
ADF has filed a friend-of-the-court brief in the case, and we are working with allies to ensure that the high court upholds state laws that protect women who have abortions. |
