John, the 2023 Prosperity Now Scorecard is here! No images? Click here Dear John, This Valentine’s Day, we’re excited to announce OUR favorite pairing, Policy + Action: A Match Made in Data, the 2023 update to the long-standing Prosperity Now Scorecard. The Scorecard serves as an online data and advocacy tool that puts racial wealth equity at the center of building an economy that works for everyone. Use the Scorecard to see how the story of wealth in America interacts with your community by exploring data for cities, counties, congressional districts, metro areas, and tribal areas for income and assets, businesses and jobs, homeownership and housing, health care and education. Is your state making strides toward racial economic equity? This year we’ve added a national and state-level analysis of wealth changes over the past five years, showing that:
So, what else is new this year? Baby Bonds, a promising policy solution to address the racial wealth divide, and one of Prosperity Now’s core policy priorities, is the newest addition to the Scorecard policies. We hope this will support the growing interest across states to implement and conduct research on Baby Bonds legislation. This year, we’re kicking off our efforts to transform the Scorecard from a tool that provides basic descriptive statistics to providing analysis that will uncover areas for targeted, evidence-based policy recommendations, because we believe that policy and action are a true love match, made possible by data. Be on the lookout this year for some exciting news on the long-term direction of the Scorecard that will help us provide even more targeted insights to support every state down the road to prosperity!
