In just his first two years in office, President Biden has created over 12 million jobs, lowered prescription drug costs for seniors, invested in our climate, and so much more. At 3.4%, the unemployment rate is the lowest it has been in over 50 years. We are bringing strong, good-paying union jobs back to America. Last week’s State of the Union proved that our best days are yet to come.

Make no mistake, my Republican colleagues want to slash Social Security, Medicare, and other vital programs. We are not going to let that happen. I am so proud to be reappointed to the House Budget Committee. Under the leadership of Ranking Democrat Brendan Boyle of Pennsylvania, we will put working families first and fight back against Republican extremism. I am excited about continuing my work!

In the Energy and Commerce Committee, I participated in a hearing focused on the federal response to Covid-19. My Republican colleagues are convinced that Democrats used faulty science to push vaccines, but in fact, we know that vaccines and boosters save lives. Only 40% of seniors over 65 have received a booster for the latest variant. Vaccines and boosters are free and readily available. I strongly recommend you get your shots if you have not done so already.

Mass shootings are not normal. The tragedies that took place 15 years ago today at Northern Illinois University, five years ago today in Parkland, and last night at Michigan State can never become normal. We need common sense gun safety laws, starting with an assault weapons ban.

Free COVID-19 Tests Available

Thanks to the Biden administration, you can now get four more free Covid-19 at-home test kits delivered to your door. You can order online via the federally run website COVIDTests.gov. Orders will be mailed by USPS, starting this week.

To receive the kits, you only need to provide a U.S. residential address when ordering. You can register your email address for delivery updates, but that is optional.

If you cannot access the internet or need help placing an order, call 1-800-232-0233 to get help in English, Spanish and more than 150 other languages. Call between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. CT, Monday to Friday and between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. CT on weekends.
