“It is extremely cold, we need blankets, mattresses and winter clothes: We are sleeping in public parks after our home collapsed.”

This heartbreaking update is what Ameera shared with us as she was sitting, exhausted, in the freezing temperatures of Aleppo, Syria in the aftermath of last week’s massive earthquakes.

UNFPA is in the region right now, working urgently to distribute blankets and warm clothes to survivors on the ground like Ameera. But with temperatures dropping and survivors freezing, we need to scale up our efforts — fast. Will you rush a donation now so that we can reach freezing survivors in Syria, Türkiye, and wherever we’re needed?

We want to be honest with you about conditions on the ground in the aftermath of this devastating earthquake, friend
  • Essential medical supplies have been wiped out across the two countries
  • Hundreds of health centers, maternity facilities and safe spaces have been flattened
  • Survivors who weren’t killed by the earthquake are freezing in the bitter cold
With the death toll continuing to rise, we know how paralyzing a tragedy of this size can feel. But today, we have the opportunity to turn that shock, fear, and despair into action.

Will you make an emergency gift to women and girls on the ground in Syria, Türkiye, and wherever else care is needed most right now?

Every second counts for survivors like Ameera, who are eagerly awaiting aid on the ground. Will you please rush a gift now?
