Celebrating a birthday on another holiday isn’t always bad!

My name is Morgan, and I’m part of the communications team here at the Arizona Democratic Party.
I’m reaching out because today is one of my favorite days of the year! Nope, not the one you’re thinking of. I’m talking about Arizona Statehood Day!
On this date 111 years ago, Arizona was admitted as the 48th state, after a long road to statehood. Of course, it’s also Valentine’s Day. Which means today, the team here at AZ Dems is going to celebrate the state we love the most – Arizona!
We’ve come a long way since 1912, even if certain folks are trying to drag us back. But we know we’re not going backwards, because we love Arizona, including all of its people, communities and cultures.
And we’re committed to continuing to build Arizona as a welcoming, accepting place for people to live, work and be in community together.
And while a lot of other folks may be celebrating that other holiday, I’m hoping you’ll help me celebrate what’s basically our state’s birthday today.
