Blood diamonds, also called conflict diamonds, are those mined to support and finance violence, war, and terrorism, or produced under slavery-like conditions, often utilizing child labor.

The global diamond industry employs over ten million people worldwide. In 2022, it was worth $80 billion.

Four objects were shot down over U.S. airspace in the past eight days. The alarm began with the surveillance balloon from China that U.S. officials brought down last week.
